Halloween Safety tips for Wake Forest NC

Here we offer Tips and Suggestions for parents and kids that will be heading out for some trick or treating this year.  Safety is paramount and we want all kids to be safe and enjoy all their candy.  Be sure to look this list over and share with your kids, nieces, nephews, grand kids, etc…

Pendergrass Academy of Martial Arts – Halloween Tips for Students and Parents


Before Trick or Treating-Parent please review with children

  •  All children under the age of 13, must be accompanied with an adult…..
  •  Make sure as a precautionary measure to put reflective tape on costumes, brooms, bikes, skateboards, and any other costume accessories.
  • Make sure costumes are not too long, and not too short.
  • Walk on Sidewalks, and don’t cut through lawns, alleys, or dark areas.
  • Go on one side of the street first, instead of crossing over
  • Bring a flashlight, or provide or provide your child with one
  • Discuss the route before leaving
  • No Light-No treats—If the house isn’t light, then move onto the next one.
  • Never enter a house—NO matter What—-Just Run AWAY


Other Key Tips for Children

  • If someone grabs you—Do whatever you have to to draw attention (kick, scream, yell)
  • Don’t go near any cars…
  • Carry a cell phone and check in with parents
  • Eat before you go out, so your parents can check the candy when you get home
  • Don’t travel alone
  • If anything seems strange don’t feel bad about just running away
  • If anyone asks you your name or how old you are, just run away
